Choir

At ASW, music is an important part of our worship. The All Saints’ Adult Choir sings at the 9:30 am service. The choir’s repertoire ranges from plainchant to contemporary hymns. New members are always welcome. We practice every Thursday (September through May) from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

Please contact our Parish Office if you would like to join us.

Jazz Vespers

Jazz Vespers is held the first Sunday of each month at 4:30 pm, from October through June, unless otherwise noted.

From ancient times, there has been some sort of reverence or thanksgiving made to mark the end of the day. The service of Vespers is late afternoon or early evening prayer, one of the nine “daily offices” of the Benedictine monasteries. Vespers celebrates the lighting of the lamps as evening descends, and has been called “the hour of peace of heart and serenity.”

Jazz Vespers is a new form of this ancient and universal tradition. Vespers at All Saints’ is a time when people can gather to chase away the shadows of the coming night or the day that’s been, seek comfort and sustenance, renew energy for the coming days, or find peace for an hour or so from an all too present world. All while enjoying some of the best jazz that Ottawa has to offer.

For further information, please call the office or email our Jazz Vespers Coordinator, Elizabeth Brown.

In the lovely Chapel of the Holy Spirit at All Saints’ Anglican Church Westboro, we hear how these musicians interpret the centuries, listen to prayers, readings, and hear words to inspire the mind and spirit.
