DESCRIPTION:The Meditation Group (Centering Prayer) has remained a quiet and meaningful part of our church’s spiritual life this year. The group meets every Thursday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the Holy Spirit Chapel\, providing participants with dedicated time for stillness\, prayerful awareness\, and reflection in the presence of God. Guidance is given as needed for newcomers on methods of silent prayer. \nThe welcoming and nonjudgmental atmosphere created a safe space for spiritual growth and rest\, especially for those seeking balance in busy or stressful lives. \nSessions typically included a brief introduction or scripture reading\, two periods of guided or silent meditation and one walking meditation\, and time for closing prayer. Participants expressed appreciation for the consistency of the meetings and the opportunity to deepen their faith through contemplative practice. \nJoin the group for contemplative prayers. DESCRIPTION:St. Matthew’s Anglican Church will welcome Judson Bridgewater\, a certified trainer for Godly Play who is also an ordained Anglican Minister and Chaplain with the Canadian Armed Forces\, to present us with key aspects of Godly Play. Judson was at All Saints’ Westboro in May of 2024. \nHe will do a story\, cover some key elements of the curriculum and how it advances spirituality in children. This mini training session would be of interest to parents\, people wanting to support All Saints’ Children’s Ministry and others who have a general interest in children’s spirituality. \nA light lunch will be served before the session. SUMMARY:Centering Prayer
DESCRIPTION:The Meditation Group (Centering Prayer) has remained a quiet and meaningful part of our church’s spiritual life this year. The group meets every Thursday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the Holy Spirit Chapel\, providing participants with dedicated time for stillness\, prayerful awareness\, and reflection in the presence of God. Guidance is given as needed for newcomers on methods of silent prayer. \nThe welcoming and nonjudgmental atmosphere created a safe space for spiritual growth and rest\, especially for those seeking balance in busy or stressful lives. \nSessions typically included a brief introduction or scripture reading\, two periods of guided or silent meditation and one walking meditation\, and time for closing prayer. Participants expressed appreciation for the consistency of the meetings and the opportunity to deepen their faith through contemplative practice. \nJoin the group for contemplative prayers. Doors open by 4:20 pm. Contact the Parish Office for more information.

DESCRIPTION:The Shop is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. \n\n\n\nAn outreach ministry of All Saints’ Westboro since just after World War II\, the New-to-You Shop has a threefold ministry: serving the community; serving the environment\, and; serving the church. \n\n\n\nIn fact\, the shop started practising the five Rs of recycling – Refuse\, Reduce\, Reuse\, Repurpose\, Recycle – long before the concept caught on with the rest of the world. You can reduce the effects of climate change by donating good-quality used clothing and household goods to the Shop. So why not drop by or offer to lend a hand? We’ll be glad to see you\, and we even give free\, unbiased fashion advice!

DESCRIPTION:A Conversation Circle with David and LaVonne Neff \nDavid Neff was editor-in-chief and editorial vice president of Christianity Today Media Group for almost 25 years.  He was also a member of the executive committee for the National Association of Evangelicals. Before coming to Christianity Today\, he was editor-in-chief of Christian History magazine. \nLaVonne Neff has spent most of her professional life as an editor\, consultant\, and writer for Christian publishers\, including InterVarsity Press\, Sojourners\, The Christian Century\, and the blog Lively Dust. \nThe Neffs have seen many many trends come and go in Christian publishing\, and they share with many Canadians a deep concern over current religious and political polarization in the USA.  This conversation circle will provide an opportunity to hear about and ask questions regarding their professional and personal journeys.
