DESCRIPTION:The Meditation Group (Centering Prayer) has remained a quiet and meaningful part of our church’s spiritual life this year. The group meets every Thursday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the Holy Spirit Chapel\, providing participants with dedicated time for stillness\, prayerful awareness\, and reflection in the presence of God. Guidance is given as needed for newcomers on methods of silent prayer. \nThe welcoming and nonjudgmental atmosphere created a safe space for spiritual growth and rest\, especially for those seeking balance in busy or stressful lives. \nSessions typically included a brief introduction or scripture reading\, two periods of guided or silent meditation and one walking meditation\, and time for closing prayer. Participants expressed appreciation for the consistency of the meetings and the opportunity to deepen their faith through contemplative practice. \nJoin the group for contemplative prayers. Doors open by 4:20 pm. Contact the Parish Office for more information.

SUMMARY:Centering Prayer
DESCRIPTION:The Meditation Group (Centering Prayer) has remained a quiet and meaningful part of our church’s spiritual life this year. The group meets every Thursday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the Holy Spirit Chapel\, providing participants with dedicated time for stillness\, prayerful awareness\, and reflection in the presence of God. Guidance is given as needed for newcomers on methods of silent prayer. \nThe welcoming and nonjudgmental atmosphere created a safe space for spiritual growth and rest\, especially for those seeking balance in busy or stressful lives. \nSessions typically included a brief introduction or scripture reading\, two periods of guided or silent meditation and one walking meditation\, and time for closing prayer. Participants expressed appreciation for the consistency of the meetings and the opportunity to deepen their faith through contemplative practice. \nJoin the group for contemplative prayers. Doors open by 4:20 pm. Contact the Parish Office for more information.

DESCRIPTION:The Shop is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. \n\n\n\nAn outreach ministry of All Saints’ Westboro since just after World War II\, the New-to-You Shop has a threefold ministry: serving the community; serving the environment\, and; serving the church. \n\n\n\nIn fact\, the shop started practising the five Rs of recycling – Refuse\, Reduce\, Reuse\, Repurpose\, Recycle – long before the concept caught on with the rest of the world. You can reduce the effects of climate change by donating good-quality used clothing and household goods to the Shop. So why not drop by or offer to lend a hand? We’ll be glad to see you\, and we even give free\, unbiased fashion advice!

DESCRIPTION:~ by Scott Hagerman\nAll Saints Westboro\, will be the location of this year’s Community Deathcare Ottawa Annual Fall Expo. This year’s theme is “A Victorian Death – Then & Now”. Join us in Steacey Hall\, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm\, on October 17th. \nThis experiential event is described as “a grassroots gathering organized by local death doulas\, educators and advocates to foster open dialogue\, green burial education\, and community end-of-life planning.” It will include shrouding demonstrations\, Victorian photography\, “Telling of the Bees\,” remembrance altars\, home vigil demo\, grief phone\, mini death cafe\, prize draw\, refreshments and more. \nOn their website\, you will find Community Deathcare Ottawa is described as “a collective of practitioners who hold a vision of family-led deathcare\, we are working to reclaim the ways we used to tend to our loved ones and our communities – ways which were informed by the knowledge of our interdependence. Community Deathcare Ottawa’s main goal is to empower individuals and their families by promoting a holistic and community-centred approach to end-of-life care … Much like birth\, the stages of dying and death call for support across all dimensions of being – physical\, emotional\, psychological\, spiritual – and in ways which meet both our practical and creative needs. It can be overwhelming to navigate and understand the myriad of resources available\, so we welcome you to reach out to us for guidance.” \nJoin us on October 17th\, and learn how death and deathcare are a sacred part of life – for the family & community.
