The movie for June 26th is The Children Act, a 2017 drama. In the midst of a marital crisis, a High Court judge must decide if she should order a life-saving blood transfusion for a teen with cancer despite his family’s refusal to accept medical treatment for religious reasons. The film is based on the book of the same name, by Ian McEwan, who also wrote the screen play, and stars Emma Thompson and StanleyTucci.
For this night only, dinner will be served in Room 5/6 as Steacy Hall will be under renovation. Dinner for this night will be rolls, cold cuts and finger foods. The movie will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. If you plan to come for dinner, please register by phoning or emailing the ASW office at 613-725-9487 or firstname.lastname@example.org noon on Friday June 21st. If you are not able to attend at the last minute, please also inform the church office. There is no requirement to pre-register if you are just coming for the movie. The cost of dinner and movie remains at $10.00 or $3.00 for just the movie.
