At ASW, music is an important part of our worship.
Laura Dziubaniuk, the music director, is a trained soprano and music educator. Under her direction the adult choir is learning new vocal techniques and developing skill in a capella singing.
Our Choirs
The adult choir sings at the 9:30 am service and entertains at parish events. The music ranges from plainchant and Tudor anthems to Taize chants and contemporary hymns. New members are welcome. The weekly practice is on Thursdays at 7:30 pm.
The Evensong choir is a smaller choir that sings Evensong in the chapel once a month. They meet at 3:15 pm before the service in order to prepare the Anglican chant psalms, the hymns and an anthem. The Evensong choir also sings each summer at Holy Trinity, Lascelles.
The Youth Choir sings at the 9:30 am service several times a year. The choir is open to children aged 7 to 12 and they practice weekly.
Other Music
The monthly Jazz Vespers service provides an opportunity to hear some of Ottawa's best jazz musicians.
Two other groups that play at our services are:
Duly Noted, a recorder ensemble.
Rare Blend, a four-woman vocal ensemble, that specializes in Celtic, folk, and plainchant.
As well as performing at our services, these musicians and their friends have put on many special events--Celtic celebrations, coffee houses and concerts.
The All Saints' Westboro Youth Choir rehearse Thursdays at 6:15 pm for one hour in the Choir room. All are welcome to join.
